It begins with a seed…
At Seeds of Faith Community Outreach Programs, we believe the “seeds” we plant today will shape the reality of our tomorrow; because “no act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.”
Seeds of Faith Community Outreach Programs currently maintains and operates over a dozen various community programs all aimed at meeting the needs of the less fortunate in our communities. New programs are constantly being added as our organization continues to grow and change to meet the diverse needs of the people we serve.
Advocacy and Support
Not sure where to turn for help? There are many local programs and agencies designed to help you when you’re in crisis! We will work with you to connect you to the appropriate agency to meet your current needs.
Angel Tree Program (October-December)
Did you know that Seeds of Faith was able to help provide Christmas presents to more than 300 families in our community?
Children don’t choose to live in poverty. They are not responsible for their family’s reduced circumstances, yet they must live their lives each day in environments most of us would find appalling and unbearable. Seeds of Faith’s Angel Tree Program attempts to provide much needed clothing items as well as wished-for toys to our community’s neediest kids. Applications are available in late October. (We will not be running the Angel Tree program in 2017. We are sorry for any inconvenience. Please call 211 or visit Toys for Tots to “Request a Toy”)
Back-to-School Program (June-September)
Did you know the average required school supplies for an elementary student costs over $75?
Providing school supplies to children in need is one of Seeds of Faith’s most important programs, because being successful in school starts with having the right supplies! Through our Back-to-School Program, each registered K-12 student receives a new backpack filled with grade specific basic school supplies. Every year, we distribute 100+ backpacks stuffed with everything a child needs to start the school year off right!
Christmas Shopping Program
Providing the children with vouchers to purchase gifts for themselves and their loved ones in just time for Christmas!
Clothing Voucher Program
If someone was in need of clothes, we would help. Our mission was to provide clothing to a greater number of homeless community members. With our Clothing Voucher Program, eligible people could receive clothing absolutely free in partnership with our New Beginnings Thrift Boutique.
Community Closet Program
Our Community Closet is kept stocked with donated clothing, personal care products (like soaps and cosmetics), and home goods (such as blankets and towels).
Diaper Fairy Program
Did you know that the average family spends $70-$100 each month on baby diapers?
Since neither food stamps nor WIC benefits cover any portion of the cost of diapers, many families struggle to keep up with their young one’s needs. We kept our Community Closet stocked full of diapers to help families struggling in this area. Donations to this program were made in memory of Jack Sullivan, our “Diaper Fairy.”
We no longer run the Diaper Fairy Program but we can still use diaper donations at our Seeds Of Faith Food Pantry or at Lydia’s House of Hope!
Emergency Homeless Backpack Program
The sad reality is that often times, whether due to overcrowding or mental illness, many homeless individuals cannot get a bed in a shelter. When these situations occur, Seeds of Faith is here with emergency backpacks filled with basic survival needs (water bottles, granola bars, blankets, tarps, flashlights, tents, etc.) to keep these poor individuals as safe as possible until shelter becomes accessible.
Operation Get Warm Program
As soon as that cold weather hits, Seeds of Faith is ready with donated coats, gloves, hats, boots, socks and mittens for men, women, and children. Anyone in need of winter gear is welcome to come to us for help!
